Building new fences in Austin

Austin new fence construction is a little more complicated than it sounds and there are some tips we have for homeowners to take advantage of to have a good long lasting fence. First off, we realize that a new fence is a major expense and a fence not built to last will deteriorate in a relatively short period of time.
Here’s an example. A lady called me for her Austin new fence construction project. I took her fence measurements over the phone and 
came back with a bid. She obviously knew what she was talking about and had received some good competitive bids already. What I did not know is that I was bidding against a fence built out of cheaper materials. I had failed to ask that critical question….what kind of materials are you looking at? In new fence construction in Austin, I usually bid top of the line materials when going back in with a new Austin Fence.
The big box stores (you know who they are) do not stock the same quality materials as the fencing supply companies do. The fencing supply companies have better, longer lasting wood. They also have wood that is straight, not susceptible to warping after a few weeks out in the weather, and boards that are true dimensions and not varied in length and width. Sounds strange, but in dealing with new Austin fences as in anything else, you do get what you pay for. Fence contractors in Austin know fencing materials and frequently use better materials that are contractor grade.
I don’t mind bidding and using the big box store products if other bidders are also using those materials, but homeowners have to know there is an alternative. Sometimes it is just not in the budget to use the better quality materials and that is fine. We know how to pick the best of what we are going to use.
